win an epiphanie bag

change the world for fifteen bucks is the title of an awesome little book from new zealand.  it reads, "we are what we do...inspiring people to use their everyday actions to change the world".  the book has such clever ideas from recycling, to being a better person, to helping others in developing nations.  the other day, i ran across this...

"give away some great ideas.

they dreamt up a scheme in Amsterdam a few years ago, whereby white bicycles were provided free. and the idea was that after you'd finished your ride you'd leave the bike in the street for someone else to ride. and if that isn't recycling, we don't know what is.

but unfortunately this idea flopped, because they failed to take into account two things.  one, the fact that criminals exist.  and two, the fact that coloured paint exists. but the idea was fantastically optimistic and deserved to succeed.

they thought a better version of this might be to ask people to recycle their books.  give them to a friend, an op shop, your local library or just leave them lying on a park bench."

++

we love that they had a great idea.  launched that idea.  and even though the original idea didn't work as planned, they didn't give up.  they modified and tried again.

there really are so many great ideas out there -- so much to inspire, encourage or just plain help.  and there is nothing better than being able to support those, who have great ideas.  one such person is maile wilson.  she had an idea -- a dream to design a practical, versatile and stylish camera bag.  and she went for it.  with tons of hard work, passion and determination, maile launched epiphanie -- and her gorgeous, stylish camera bags.

one thing we so love about epiphanie (beyond the bag itself) is how the business as a whole is a spark of inspiration -- the website, the branding, the business cards and the fabulous epiphanies, which accompany each and every bag.

maile's story of success is a reminder to us all, that we can be and do anything we set our minds to, if we have a vision, are passionate and work hard.

we are so grateful that maile had a dream because she was generous enough to sponsor wallflower friends and share a bag with us...a bag that we are now so excited to pass on to one lucky reader!!

so how can you win this fabulous epiphanie bag?  stay tuned...we will share how to enter the epiphanie contest in our next blog post.

we are what we do

My favorite quote is from Richard Avedon:

"If a day goes by without my doing something related to photography, it's as though I've neglected something essential to my existence, as though I had forgotten to wake up."

Soooo true!

This is how I try to approach my photography. This amazing Lola bag is definitely not your everyday bag -

"Be daring, be different, be impractical, be anything that will assert integrity of purpose and imaginatve vision against the play-it-safers, the creatures of the commonplace, the slaves of the ordinary." ~Cecil Beaton
